着物の生地となる絹（シルク）。
今、世界のシルク産業はサテンやツイルのような
無地の生地にプリントや染めで
模様を施すものが主流です。
日本は着物という唯一無二の文化の賜物で、
織り柄のある絹の技術が発達しています。
それは、シルクジャガードと呼ばれ、
世界的にも高度な技術として知られています。
しかし、日本が世界に稀に見る
シルクジャガード大国であることは
あまり認知されていません。
その理由の一端として、
着物をつくることを目的とした生地であるため、
約40cm幅の織機が主流であること。
洋装で使われる生地幅の多くは112cm、
広いもので150cmの生地も多く使用されます。
そのため、日本の生地は今まで
世界的に注目されずにきました。
Silk, the fabric used to make kimonos.
In today’s global silk industry, using plain fabrics such
as satin or twill and applying patterns to them via printing
or dyeing has become the norm.
Japan is privileged to have a unique kimono culture,
thanks to which it has developed a technique to weave
patterned silk. Known as silk jacquard,
it is globally acknowledged as a highly advanced technique.
However,Japan is not widely recognized as a powerhouse for
the rare silk jacquard technique.
One reason for this is that silk fabrics used for kimonos are
typically woven on looms with widths of around 40cm,
whereas most fabrics used for Western garments have
widths of 112cm or 150cm for wider pieces. As a result,
Japanese fabrics have not garnered much attention on the global stage.

丹後の生地は、900本の針で織られています。
しかし、その織機では世界基準の
112cm幅の生地は織れません。
そこで create ebara は、
10,000本の針が使用可能な織機を導入。
今まで培った技術を活かしながら、
世界基準の幅の生地を織ることを可能にしました。
それは、単純に生地の幅が広がるという
ことにとどまりません。
今までの繊細な織り柄を、
より大きな生地に描けるということです。
この改革は、丹後の生地の魅力を
よりスケールアップすることにつながります。
日本の着物の魅力を、
職人の高度な技術を、
丹後という街を、
世界へ発信する。
私たち create ebara は、
そのための扉になります。
Tango fabric is woven with 900 needles.
However, the looms cannot weave the world-standard 112 cm wide fabric.
Therefore, "create ebara" has introduced a loom capable of using 10,000 needles.
This has made it possible to weave world-standard width fabrics while
utilizing the technology that has been cultivated up to now.
This is not simply a matter of increasing the width of the fabric.
It means that the delicate weaving patterns of the past can now be drawn on
larger fabrics.
This reform will lead to a greater scale-up of the attractiveness of Tango fabrics.
We will transmit to the world the charm of the Japanese kimono, the
advanced skills of craftsmen, and the city of Tango.
We, "create ebara", will be the door to do so.
