Tango Mythology

日本三景の一つとして親しまれる天橋立は、
“ 国生み神話”で知られるイザナキノミコト、
イザナミノミコトと深く関わりがあります。
神話では、その昔イザナキとイザナミが、
天の浮橋という空に浮かんだ橋に立って、
天の沼矛(あめのぬほこ)を海水の中にさし降ろし、
矛を引き上げたときに矛の先より滴り落ちる潮が
積もり重なって初めて島ができたと伝えられています。

そして、天橋立は国を創りし大神、
イザナキが天に通うために架けたと
伝えられる梯子が、イザナキが居眠りしている間に
海上に倒れてしまい天橋立になったと伝えられています。

Amanohashidate, famous as one of Japan's Scenic Trio,
is closely associated with Izanagi-no-Mikoto and Izanami-no-Mikoto,
known as the deities who created Japan. According to the myth, long ago, Izanagi and Izanami stood on a bridge floating in the sky called
Ame-no-Ukihashi and lowered the Ame-no-nu-hoko spear into the sea, and lifted it up.
When droplets of salt water fell from the spear's tip into the ocean, an island formed for the first time.


Amanohashidate was built as a ladder for nation creator god Izanagi to commute to Heaven.
However, while Izanagi was asleep, the ladder fell into the ocean and became the Amanohashidate sandbar.

両大神が伊勢にお遷りする以前は、
龍神社の奥宮である真名井神社を、
古くは匏宮（ よさのみや）と申し
豊受大神様をお祀りしていました。
そこへ、天照大神様が崇神天皇の御代に
お遷りになり四年間、吉佐宮（ よさのみや）
という宮号でご一緒にお祀りしていました。

そして、旧社名の匏宮の「匏（ よさ）」と
吉佐宮の「吉佐（ よさ）」という宮号は、
現在も江原産業が本社を構える
“ 与謝郡”という郡名となって
継承されて来ています。

また、真名井神社には、過去を浄化し、
曇りをはらうとされるご神水を求め、
多くの人が毎年訪れています。

Before the two Okami gods moved to Ise,
Kono Shrine's Okumiya rear shrine named Manai Shrine
was formerly known as "Yosanomiya" (匏宮) enshrining Toyouke Okami.
Amaterasu Okami moved to Manai Shrine during the reign of Emperor Sujin.
For four years, both Toyouke and Amaterasu Okami were worshipped at the shrine under the name "Yosanomiya" (吉佐宮).


Then Amaterasu-Omikami moved to the shrine in the
reign of Emperor Sujin and was enshrined there
for four years under the name of Yosanomiya(吉佐宮) .


Yosanomiya's former shrine names using different kanji
characters for "Yosa'' (匏 and 吉佐) have been retained by
the district name of "Yosa-gun" (与謝郡) in Tango where
Ebara Sangyo Co., Ltd. is headquartered today.


Also, many people visit Manai Shrine every year
for the sacred water that purifies the past and clears the clouds.
