Japan's tradition of silk jacquard weaving is unlike any other in the world. Yet its looms were optimized for kimono for a very long time.
A traditional kimono fabric bolt is approximately 38 cm wide — the right dimension for tailoring a single kimono. But most fabrics used in global fashion are 112 cm wide, and wider textiles can reach 150 cm.
This 38 cm barrier has long kept Tango textiles from moving directly into global apparel and interior applications.

Traditional Tango looms have long worked with approximately 900 needles. create ebara introduced an electronic jacquard loom that can use 10,000 needles.
This is not only a wider loom. Its value is that the delicate patterns and weaving techniques cultivated in Tango can be developed at the global-standard width of 112 cm while preserving their quality.
And it is a one-of-a-kind value, made possible only because create ebara owns nearly every type of jacquard loom found in Tango, with silk professionals handling everything from design and jacquard punch cards to weaving.
