About Ebara Sangyo Co., Ltd.
Ebara Sangyo Co., Ltd. began in 1950, when founder Fusaji Ebara established Ebara Mon-koujo to produce jacquard punch cards known as "monshi" — the cards that translate kimono designs into weaving instructions — believing the work could begin with a single brush.
In 1963, leveraging the company's pattern-design expertise, looms were introduced and Ebara Sangyo Co., Ltd. was founded as a silk jacquard textile manufacturer. The name carries our aspiration to create new industry.
Since then, in the land of Tango, we have continued to weave silk jacquard textiles — primarily for kimono — answering each client's vision with integrated craftsmanship.

Fusaji Ebara establishes Ebara Mon-koujo in Tango — a workshop devoted to "monshi," the jacquard punch cards that translate kimono designs into weaving instructions.
Building on its pattern-design expertise, the workshop introduces its own looms and incorporates as Ebara Sangyo Co., Ltd. — a silk jacquard textile manufacturer.
Launches its own brand, "create ebara," carrying decades of kimono-silk craftsmanship into a modern lifestyle.

We want to continue creating textiles that bring smiles to the faces of our customers, and become a company that fuels the dreams of the next generation of young professionals in the textile industry. Tango, our home, is Japan's largest silk production region, weaving approximately 70% of all kimono silk fabric. Tango Chirimen carries a tradition stretching back to the Edo period, and in 2017 it was registered as a Japan Heritage site as the "Tango Chirimen Corridor — 300 Years of Spun Silk."
